John Marino is the principal of Marino Consulting, a Washington, DC based firm that represents diverse domestic and international clients from various industries. He brings more than 15 years of international business experience working in leadership roles. His consulting portfolio has spanned over several continents and business sectors to include private, as well as publicly traded companies ranging from emerging startups to established multibillion dollar corporations. His practice areas include international, institutions, corporate, and the public sector. He has worked with technology, cyber security, defense, and energy companies, as well as universities, NGOs, foundations, and nonprofit organizations.
Mr. Marino’s expertise includes developing and executing winning strategies for clients seeking to grow their business, enter new markets, raise their profile, enhance their image, tactically communicate their message, and develop strategic relationships. His capabilities also include providing executive support to C Suite executives, including offering strategic advice, analysis, third party perspective, and guidance for board alignment and engagement.
His international consulting experience includes serving in a senior role with Fabiani & Company, a leading government affairs and marketing firm based in Washington, DC where he developed new business and served as the lead for some of the firm’s most prized accounts. Mr. Marino also is a member of the U.S. Advisory Board of the Università degli Studi Guglielmo, a higher education institution based in Rome, Italy with over 16,000 students and offering over 50 programs at the graduate and postgraduate level.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Marino served as the national executive director of the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF), a Washington, DC based non-profit organization that is a leading voice working to advance U.S. – Italy relations in the areas of politics, business, education and culture. Mr. Marino’s tenure at NIAF also included directing the government relations, public policy and international relations portfolios where he worked closely with the Italian American Congressional Delegation and its Business Council, a networking platform for top corporate executives and institutional leaders.
Mr. Marino received a Bachelor of Arts from Clemson University in South Carolina, a Master of Arts from Fordham University in New York, and pursued professional training at Georgetown University’s Government Affairs Institute in Washington, DC.
